Christian art colleges help artists further their interest in the arts through the celebration of God's creation. Learn more about the top colleges in the country.

Christian art has been used for portraying Christianity over many years. Students interested in pursuing a career in the Christian arts are drawn to colleges that allow them to celebrate the creation of God in many mediums, including paintings, sculpting, illustration, and even graphic design. There are many Christian colleges that have Christian arts as a part of their course offerings, and this is a review of some of the more recognized colleges in the U.S.

Gordon College, Wenham, Massachusetts

The Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts was established in 1889. This is one of the most popular Christian art colleges in the country, and is ranked among the top colleges in the U.S. This college is devoted to liberal arts, which provides a well-rounded Christian education. The Gordon College also develops the perceptual and creative gifts apart from other academic endeavors. The faculty consists of professionals in painting, sculpture, designing, and photography. There are also courses available in dance and music arts as well.

Belhaven College, Jackson, Mississippi

Belhaven College is a typical Christian art college where the standard has been set to Christianity in all course offerings. This school is famous for its adherence to Christianity throughout the country. This institution has been accredited in arts, visual art, music, theater, and dance. Belhaven is the only college to offer the course of Fine Arts in creative writing.

The college has a separate gallery for art of both students and faculty. In addition, Belhaven is undertaking a new venture called "Stoneworks" that aims to teach artists how to restore arts throughout the church in order to renew the Christian faith as a whole. Belhaven manages to achieve a balance between modern art and Christian art without losing the aesthetic part.

Bethel University, St. Paul, Minnesota

Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota offers an education acclaimed by the Christian framework. The university offers various courses as prescribed according to the framework. There are several colleges under the university that comply with Christian education. Bethel Seminary is one that offers a degree in arts, and is a world renowned evangelical seminary.

There are various galleries, museums, and architectural masterpieces that are present to endorse the nature of the university. The university in general teaches about Biblical truth and spreads the gospel. There are around six masters of art degrees offered which include divinity, ministry, arts, humanities, natural and social sciences. While arts in general are not the main focus of this university, it is an excellent program that has produced hundreds of great artists of our time and times past.

Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona

The Grand Canyon University is located in Phoenix, Arizona. The university was established in 1949, and the city developed around it. Grand Canyon University is among the other top universities in the nation that offers music, sciences, business, Christian studies, and art. There are also various online courses available for students to choose from. The art degree offered is one of the finest with the faculty being professional in their respective fields. The cultural heritage of the city holds its origins to this university and hence it has a major bond with the locals.

Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts

Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts has been ranked #1 on the U.S. News website in the category of colleges offering liberal arts. The Williams College Museum of Art has been branded as one of finest in the entire nation. With over twelve thousand works, the collection is a comprehensive showcasing of current modern art along with contemporary art. Classes are often held in the museum to help the students in understanding the concepts easily.

Choosing a college to attend is a big decision whether you are preparing to graduate from high school or looking to further your current career. If Christianity and arts are your top priorities, the colleges mentioned above are definitely worth your investigation.
