Strapped for time? Students can attend online college when it is convenient for them.
Axia College of University of Phoenix offers associates degrees in a variety of disciplines, from business to nursing and healthcare. Classes are held purely in an online environment.
How To “Attend” Class with Axia College Online
Students are give access to online forums where they interact with their instructors and fellow classmates. Course materials are available for download from the college website, and all interactions with classmates and instructors takes place online (although instructors are available by phone during office hours).
Reasons to Choose Axia's Online College Over a Traditional Program
Convenience. Students may attend class from the comfort of their own home. No in-person attendance is required.
Flexible Scheduling. Axia courses are nine weeks long, and classes begin on Mondays. If a student is unable to pick up a particular course section, he doesn’t have to wait until the next semester to do so. Classes are offered on a rolling basis depending on enrollment.
Class enrollment is capped at twenty students. The instructor-to-student ratio is set at a reasonable level so instructors will be available to interact with each student individually. Students can expect one-on-one private feedback. (Class discussions occur in a public online forum, but assignments are submitted directly to the instructor in a separate private forum).
Reasonable workloads. Although the curriculum is challenging and invigorating, students only take two courses at the same time, allowing them to devote ample time to each. Some students at traditional colleges may take as many as five courses at the same time. Also, many classes have an alternating schedule in which students are either reading and discussing material or working on assignments.
Who Should Enroll at Axia College of University of Phoenix
Axia College doesn’t cater to one specific type of student. Some students are just out of high school while others have been working for twenty years. Axia offers individuals the flexibility to maintain a full-time job while working toward their degree.
Axia courses are conducted in an asynchronous learning environment. Although all assignments have set deadlines, attendance is not required at a certain hour. Students can work Axia around their daily lives as they see fit as long as they are submitting assignments on time and meeting participation requirements. The program is a good idea for anyone without enough time in the day to attend classes in person; it is especially great for busy parents.
Anyone interested in taking a test drive of the Axia online learning experience may do so through a course demo on the Axia homepage. The demo takes prospective students through the motions of attending class online, giving real screenshots (with fake names of course) of the class forum setting. Alternatively, prospective students may call 1-866-766-0766 for more information.

My name is Nancy Mack I have just finish my first year here at Axia College
UOP. I really love it. Everyone you come in contact is so pleasant and
helpful. Sometimes an online course can make you feel out of touch and
alone, but the staff here helps you not to feel that way. I think anyone
wanting to go to an online college should check us out. Yes I said us
because when you attend Axia College UPO you become part of it. Don't
forget since it is online course you can fit it into your busy or not too

My name is Ashley and I am not attended UOP Online and it is the best thing
for me. I dont have to means to go to a community college then a regular as
I have small children and not enough income to pay for daycare. I
researched this school before I started and didnt find anythign that would
stick sort of speak. It is a nationally accredited school, which is good if
you want to transfer. There are many articles out there that say negative
things about this school, but most of them are about being charged for this
and that because they say they "withdrew" but they did not go
about it the right. When you have a fedral loan through the GOVERNMENT no
matter what, you have to pay it back. It says that when you reciece your
paperwork for it, so if you are interested in attending this school, DO
IT!!! It will be the best thing you can do. If you read this and still
aren't sure, send me an email and I will help celar anything up I can.
Remember when you get a loan it is your responsibility to pay it back, even
if you do not complete your schooling. Here is an email I check once in a
awhile, amooremeyer@yahoo.com. Good luck to all who read this. !!!

Thanks for your comments, Nancy and Ashley. I'm glad you're both having
such good experiences with Axia. I've been an Axia instructor for over 2
years and absolutely love it. I hope to see you both in one of my future
classes! :-)

Hi, I just came across your site while researching information for my
site. A few students and I have set up a resource and information site that
is intended to provide a fun place for students, alumni, family and friends
of Axia students to network, socialize and help each other in a friendly
manner consistent with the principals of academic integrity and fairness.
If you ever have a spare minute, please feel free to stop by and check it
out. The site address is http://www.AxiaStudent.com

My Experience with Axia I started Axia College in Sept. 2008. I have
complete 12 credit hours up to this point. I am currently in my 3rd block
of classes with a few weeks to go before I start my 4th block. Believe me,
any negative reviews you have read are nothing more than ranting from
"probably" lazy people. If one does what is asked of them from
their instructors, follow the instructions of the counselors (academic and
financial) YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS. I am 55 years old and I am loving
every minute of Axia College. The instructors are very helpful and most
have been accessible 7 days a week. I know I am not an unusual case;
everybody has the same opportunities. One either wants to learn or they
don't! Don't let any of the negatives persuade you to NOT make the call.
The negatives seem to come from the one's who do not really want an
education.

My name is Daffany, I have been a student with Axia since July of 2007, I
love it. It is flexible, I still have time for work, my family, and
friends. The most difficult situations I have had at Axia have been my own
fault lack of motivation and personal set backs. I did have issues with
financial aid, but they were not major issues they were taken care of. I
would defiantly recommend the Online learning experience to anyone in my
situation, it works.

I have been attending Axia college since May of 2008, I am about graduate
with my associate degree and couldn't be happier for all the hard work that
I have put forth to receive my degree. However I am getting ready to start
my last class and probably won't be able to start it due to the fact the
financial aid department swears they made a double deposit of financial aid
into my checking account, however never did. I feel they are cheating me
out of graduating due to wanting me to pay for the class again that my
financial aid already covered. So is this how the university gets you in
the end, they don't let you graduate because they make it look like you owe
them money when everything was covered by my financial aid.
